Numerous studies have shown that the first five years of a child’s age are the most important for the child’s development, with eighty-five percent of brain development occurring during this time. A good early years programme should provide children access to a range of resources that are structured for holistic learning igniting children’s curiosity, enabling development, and are aligned with the curriculum goals.
Hence, it is important for every teacher to provide responsive, nurturing, and stimulating experiences to children at this stage. This not only motivates children to acquire new skills but also prepares them for the future.
Early childhood education should include a well-rounded curriculum, allowing children to focus on their holistic development. A part of this curriculum is also responsible for helping children to make a successful transition to primary school, including the development of foundational skills and a gradual move from an informal to more formal education.
Considering the cruciality of providing a curriculum fostering children’s physical, emotional, and psychological growth, Wellsprings Academy adopted The Cambridge Early Years Programme. The programme has been developed in line with the NEP 2020 and offers a well-rounded approach that focuses on the physical, cognitive, language, communication, social, and emotional development of children. As an elementary step towards an exciting educational journey for children, this curriculum helps learners aged between 3 to 6 years develop the knowledge, understanding, and skills they need to make the best possible start in their academic life.
The Cambridge curriculum provides schools and centers with everything they need to deliver a quality early education that includes classroom resources and approaches to measure learners’ progress. In this education system, teaching and learning methodologies are play-based and child-centered.
Children who receive high-quality childcare and learning have better developmental outcomes in early childhood including better cognitive, socio-emotional, and linguistic development.
Cambridge Early Years provides young students with a solid foundation that helps them further progress in their education. It prepares children for the transition to primary schools across educational boards, helping them move from play-based learning to a more formal and structured way of learning.
