Oct. 12, 2023, 1:39 p.m.

Cambridge International AS Level programme is a one-year programme, while Cambridge International A Level takes two years to complete. Assessment is carried out at the end of each programme.

Learners may choose their subjects as Cambridge International AS Level and extend to Cambridge International A Level. Although the syllabuses for both are international in outlook, they retain local relevance as well. They have been created specifically for learners who prefer an international curriculum with content that avoids cultural bias but is culturally sensitive. The syllabuses of both AS & A Levels curriculums develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills in learners.

Cambridge AS & A Level programmes develop learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills in:

  • in-depth subject content
  • Developing independent thinking
  • Application of knowledge and understanding in new as well as familiar situations
  • handling and evaluation of different types of information source
  • Developing logical thinking and presenting ordered and coherent arguments
  • making judgements, recommendations and decisions
  • presenting rational explanations, understanding implications and communicating them logically
  • working and communicating in English

Cambridge offers a choice of 55 subjects, the schools have the flexibility to choose a varied combination of subjects to suit their learner base.

Cambridge AS & A Level exams are held twice a year; in June and November. Results of both the programmes are issued in August and January.
